Health Checklist

  1. COFFEE INTAKE- it's best to limit coffee intake to 2 cups of coffee per day.

  2. ALCOHOL INTAKE - try to have no more than 2 Standard drinks per day, with 2 alcohol free days per week.

  3. FRUIT ALONE - having fruit is the fastest of the food groups to digest, it is best consumed alone to ensure your body can process it properly.

  4. WATER & MEALS - to support optimum digestion avoid having big amounts of water before and after meals as this can dilute stomach acid and compromise digestion. Taking small sips of water throughout the meal is recommended to assist digestion.

  5. START YOUR DAY RIGHT - A hot Ayurvedic drink of lemon, ginger and a little honey, is the perfect refreshing, detoxifying and energizing way to start the day.

  6. EXERCISE - Make exercise a part of your everyday routine. Mix it up and make it fun. Try yoga, pilates, aerobics, nature or neighborhood walks, cycling, swimming or dance class. Aim for at least 30 minutes per day.

  7. NATURAL FOODS - Eat foods that have had a life, whole foods as they come in nature. Include a variety of fruits, vegetables, legumes, quality cuts of meats, fish, seafood, legumes, dairy and quality fats in your diet.

  8. LIMIT JUNK FOOD - Limit processed foods and get into the habit of reading food labels. Choose foods with fewer ingredients that you don’t recognize. The more simple the food product the better.

  9. BE CALM - Eat in a calm state. Look at your food, savor the flavour. This is conscious eating. Eating in such a state supports your satisfaction after a meal, prevents over eating and supports digestion so that you can get more nourishment out of the foods you have eaten.

  10. EAT EARLY - Try not to eat too late in the evenings. It’s best to have your evening meal no later than 7pm. Night time is a time for house cleaning of your internal system and this can be compromised if you are still digesting from the evening meal.
